New Shiratech IoT Cube BOX runs on STM32MP1 Microprocessor

Shiratech Solutions, a subsidiary of AY Electronics Group and innovator of ARM®-based Platform on Modules and associated expansion boards, software and services, announced at Embedded World 2019 its IoT Cube Box, an IoT gateway. Ishay Kokavka, CEO, also highlighted the company’s range of products, and its continued support for the embedded community thanks to custom design services covering both hardware and software.

“Shiratech’s Platform on Modules extend the conventional System on Module (SOM) concept by focusing features on the needs of specific market sectors, typically shortening time to market by at least 12 months” explained Mr. Kokavka. “Our customers can choose Platform on Modules based on ARM Cortex-A and Cortex-M processors strategically targeted at industrial control, networking, and IoT gateway opportunities.”

IoT Cube Box is an IoT gateway that offers direct and easy connection to the cloud. It is the first product of its kind fitted with the new STM32MP1 series microprocessor from ST announced recently. With its clever combination of MPU and software, ST assembled all the pieces to match product supply requirements – and Shiratech customers will benefit from ST’s rolling 10-years longevity commitment.

IoT Cube Box is designed specifically for use in smart home, smart city and white goods applications. It makes full use of the STM32MP1 series strengths, running at up to 650MHz and operating a high-performance Arm Cortex-M4 microcontroller core running at 209MHz.

Shiratech also provides mezzanines compatible with the industry-standard 96Boards format. As an active supporter of the 96Boards community, Shiratech has focused its mezzanine range to simplify IoT connectivity, context sensing, and machine vision. A mezzanine for developing with the Intel® MAX-10 FPGA is also available.

In conjunction with Qualcomm, Shiratech showcased at Embedded World its latest LTE Cat-M1/NB1 mezzanine for IoT WAN connectivity over narrowband LTE at Qualcomm’s booth, 4A-330. Featuring the Quectel BG96 LTE AT-M1/NB1 modem, the LTE mezzanine also adds a GPS receiver to let customers add navigation and location-aware capabilities to their projects.

Also on display at Embedded World, the Bosch sensor mezzanine contains a pressure and temperature sensor, 3-axis accelerometer, a 4-in-1 environmental sensor, and a magnetometer, connected to a smart hub IC that contains an integrated 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope and microcontroller.
