Privacy policy

Defining Electronics have amended their privacy policy to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). The new regulations advise that we are required to gain your consent to hold your personal business data on our database and provide a full understanding on how your personal data is stored and used.


What is personal data?
Personal data is anything that can be used to identify an individual. It includes names and email addresses.

What data do we hold?

The only information Defining Electronics holds is your name, Company name, job title, business geographical destination and email address
We hold no other personal information on you.

How do we use your data?
Your data is held on our database to provide us with an understanding of our subscribers, for statistics purposes only and to send to you the Defining Electronics e-newsletter. It is our company policy to limit the number of e-newsletters that you receive from us to a maximum of two per calendar month. Your data is NEVER passed on to a third party with the exception of Mailchimp.

 

Legitimate Interest                                                                                                                                                                             We may retain business data where the sender has supplied information in the form of a press release or email communication for publishing consideration on the Defining Electronics website. We would deem this act by the sender as Legitimate Interest, which we may reciprocate by email or e-newsletter.

 

Where is the data stored?
The data is stored electronically on our email servers operated by Mailchimp.  Mailchimp is an email marketing service which permits Defining Electronics to design and transmit an e-newsletter in a professional format.

 
Who is responsible for our Data?
Under the regulations, every company is required to appoint a Data Controller, who is responsible for ensuring that any data is secure and up to date. The Data Controller for Defining Electronics is John Steward, who can be contacted on datacontroller.definingelec@gmail.com

I no longer wish for my data to be held on your database, Unsubscribe.
If you would like your data removed from our database, please email  datacontroller.definingelec@gmail.com with the word ‘Remove’ in the subject line and include your name and Company name in the body of the email. Shortly after receiving this request, we will delete your entry from our database permanently, and you will receive no further communications from us. You will be able to sign up again at any point in the future, should you wish to do so.
